In 2019, the secularism law known as Bill 21 was passed by the government of Quebec. The law prohibits public sector workers in positions of authority from wearing religious symbols or articles of faith such as dastaars (turbans), hijabs, and kippahs.
From 2019 to now, the WSO is continuously fighting against the law to ensure all Quebecers are treated equally and free to practice their faith without fear of discrimination.
