WSO Statement on Milwaukee Gurdwara Shooting

Ottawa (August 5,2012):  The World Sikh Organization of Canada is horrified by the violence today at the Sikh Gurdwara in Milwaukee.  According to reports, seven people are dead and several are injured, including a police officer, with severe gunshot wounds.

WSO President Prem Singh Vinning said, “Sikhs in Canada and across the world are shocked by the horrific violence at the Milwaukee Gurdwara.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.  As the situation becomes clearer, it will be essential to understand the reasons that led to this senseless tragedy. ” 

WSO continues to closely monitor the situation as further details emerge.
