Disallowing an Amritdhari Sikh Witness to Attend Court Unacceptable (January 15, 2008) The World Sikh Organization of Canada (WSO) questions the logic of disallowing an amritdhari (“initiated) Sikh witness to attend court with his articles of faith. Mr. Sidhu was subpoenaed to testify as a witness and was denied the opportunity to fulfill his civic duty because of a prohibition on the kirpan.
